Venezuela Confirms Killing of Tren de Aragua Leader in US-Backed Operation

(MENAFN) The Venezuelan government has confirmed that Héctor Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, leader of the Tren de Aragua criminal organization, was killed during a coordinated operation involving Venezuelan and US authorities, according to official statements.

The Ministry of Communication and Information said Guerrero Flores—known by the alias “Nino Guerrero”—was killed in a rural area of Bolívar state during an operation targeting the group.

Authorities reported that the mission included clashes with members of the criminal organization and was supported by intelligence sharing, advanced technological tools, and coordination mechanisms between the two countries.

US President Donald Trump had earlier announced that Guerrero Flores was killed in what he described as a joint operation with Venezuelan authorities, a claim later confirmed by Caracas.

The operation was carried out as part of broader efforts against the Tren de Aragua network, which has been linked to various criminal activities across the region.
